Grant details

Geographic focus

UK-wide. Actively encourage applications from UK-registered charities with overseas operations, but cannot support organisations registered outside the UK.

Current priorities

Grassroots initiatives demonstrating innovation in solving emerging community needs, with potential for growth and scalability. Strong leadership and clear impact outcomes are valued.

Typical award

Grants of £2,000–£5,000 per organisation. Five shortlisted projects per round share £15,000, with awards determined by partner business employee vote: 1st place £5,000, 2nd place £3,500, 3rd place £2,500, 4th & 5th place £2,000 each.

Decision timeline

Applications considered on a quarterly cycle. Four application windows: December 16–March 15, March 16–June 15, June 16–September 15, September 16–December 15. Decisions aim to be communicated within three months of each round's deadline, though timescales may vary due to small team capacity. Longlisted organisations progress to reference checks and informal meetings before final shortlisting.

How to apply

Complete a short, simple online application form in one sitting (cannot be saved and returned to). Ensure you are ready before starting. You will receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your application. Longlisted applicants undergo reference checks and an informal video call before shortlisting. Shortlisted projects are featured on the funder's website and voted on by partner business employees. Winners are announced publicly and funded immediately after voting closes.

What makes a strong application

Show innovation and new approaches to problem-solving. Demonstrate scalability and growth potential. Tell the authentic story of why your charity exists and how it developed. Highlight expected outcomes with specific figures — for example, how a £2,000–£5,000 grant translates to number of people helped. Show strong leadership and explain why you are the right person to deliver the project.

Tips

Read the eligibility guidance and bid writing tips article before applying — this significantly increases your chances of shortlisting. Look at previous shortlisted organisations to understand what successful projects look like. Rejected applications remain in the pool for future rounds; you do not need to reapply unless your project needs have changed significantly. The funder deliberately keeps monitoring light-touch, asking only for simple tracking information, not heavy impact reports. Use specific figures to show impact — the funder relates outcomes to grant amounts (e.g. £100 per person helped).
